Since I finally have a “normal” week at home, I thought it would be fun to document what I typically eat in a day when I am not traveling. I documented every single thing I ate yesterday and took a few photos along the way. I typically don’t consume any calories until 12 PM or later, and I try to eat all of my meals in an 8-hour window (otherwise known as intermittent fasting).
I stick to a pretty clean meal plan when I am home because I let myself eat whatever I want when I travel. There are some weeks where I will eat a few meals out, but I do try hard to meal prep and eat at home during the work week.
A Typical Weekday Menu:
- 10:30 AM – 1 cup of black coffee
- 12:30 PM – Turkey/Salami Lettuce Wrap Sandwich & Organic Fruit Bar
- 2:30 PM – 2 hard-boiled egg whites & 1 cup of green grapes
- 4:30 PM – 1/4 cup raw almonds & bell peppers with hummus
- 6:30 PM – HEB Salmon Meal Simple (includes salmon, broccoli and potatoes)
- 8:00 PM – Herbal Green Tea
I also make sure to drink at least 70 ounces of water each day. I don’t have anything else to drink other than water, black coffee or tea. Some nights, I will have a glass or two of red wine with my dinner.
Obviously, this is an ideal day of eating and I do not eat this clean all the time. This is what I strive for when I am home, but life happens! If someone wants to go out to lunch or if I get invited to a happy hour, I typically don’t say no. Again, I think it’s all about trying to find the right balance in your life.
