Happy Thursday! Is everyone ready for a 3-day weekend? I am excited for Memorial Day – I am hoping to spend a lot of time outside by the pool with family.
Today, I wanted to talk about weddings – more specifically what to wear to a wedding as a guest. It is peak wedding season now, so I am sure there are a few of you trying to figure out what to wear.
For a summer wedding, I typically like to wear a dress – something in-between a sundress and a cocktail dress. For a lot of summer weddings, you don’t need to get too formal unless the invitation calls for black tie or something of that nature. We went to two weddings last summer and these were our outfits of choice:
I didn’t feel overdressed or underdressed at either wedding, so I think it is safe to say this is a good approach for summer weddings.
Below, I have found several dresses under $50 that would work great for summer weddings. You will notice that there is no white because you absolutely should not wear white to a wedding. Others may have a different opinion, but I am a firm believer that the bride should be the only one wearing white that day!
What do y’all think of these dresses? Would you wear them to a summer wedding? Do you typically spend more than $50 on a dress for weddings? I try not to go overboard on the spending because I may not end up wearing it all that much.
Anyways, I hope this helps if you have a wedding to attend in the near future! Tomorrow, we are heading off to our first 2017 wedding in Kansas City, so I am really excited for that.
Have a great Memorial Day Weekend and stay safe!
