Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend – we spent a lot of time by the pool, so I can’t complain.
One of my favorite things to drink by the pool is a margarita. We used to buy pre-mixed margaritas because it was easier than making them from scratch, but we have changed our ways.
Once our pool project was completed, we started making homemade margaritas, and they are quite delicious! I don’t think I can ever go back to the pre-mixed margaritas.
Our recipe is really simple. You don’t need to over-complicate the margarita. Also, I don’t like my margaritas sweet, so you will find that this recipe is very traditional and more sour.
The Perfect Margarita
Ingredients
- 4 shots tequila (6 oz)
- 2 oz triple sec
- juice of 3 limes
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Combine all ingredients in cocktail shaker and shake well.
- Pour into a glass with ice!
- Optional: Garnish with salt and a lime wedge.
Of course, taste testing your margarita is required 🙂
Also, if you want to spice things up, you can muddle a jalapeño in the cocktail shaker before adding the other ingredients. I am obsessed with jalapeño margaritas as well!
This really is the perfect poolside drink, so try it out sometime soon!
Does anyone else have a good margarita recipe? I am hoping to do some more creative ones soon, so stay tuned!
Have a great week!
