Sugar, spice and everything nice. That pretty much sums up this latest cocktail creation of mine. This spicy hatch mojito has the PERFECT amount of spice to help balance out the sweetness from the sugar. It’s the perfect drink for a hot summer day, and it goes down a little too fast. If you can’t find hatch green chiles, you could always use jalapeños instead. Cheers!
Spicy Hatch Mojito
Ingredients
- 3 oz rum
- 2 limes
- 1 T sugar
- 1 hatch chile pepper, chopped
- 10 mint leaves
- enough club soda to fill the remainder of the glass
Instructions
- In a highball cocktail glass, combine the sugar, chopped hatch chiles, mint leaves and the juice of 2 limes. Muddle all of these ingredients together for 2-3 minutes.
- Fill the cocktail glass with ice and add your rum.
- Finally, top it off with club soda and stir the ingredients together.
- Optional: Garnish with lime wedges, mint leaves or hatch chile peppers.
