Today I’m bringing you a cocktail recipe that is just as delicious as it is beautiful. This Rosemary Gin Gimlet uses a purple colored gin called Empress Gin. It’s pretty easy to find and most liquor stores carry it.
This cocktail is SUPER easy to make and only requires a few ingredients. I also included instructions for how to make the Rosemary Simple Syrup. If you don’t want to make that, you could always use regular simple syrup and garnish with a rosemary sprig. Hope y’all enjoy this one. Cheers!
Rosemary Gin Gimlet
Ingredients
- 3 oz Empress Gin
- ¾ oz rosemary simple syrup (see below for how to make)
- 1 lime
- Rosemary sprigs for garnish
Instructions
Rosemary Simple Syrup
- Combine a ½ cup of sugar and a ½ cup of water in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce to a simmer. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove the mixture from the heat and add in a handful of rosemary sprigs. Let the rosemary infuse into the mixture for 15 minutes.
- Once the simple syrup has cooled down, remove the rosemary sprigs from the mixture and store the simple syrup in a cruet.
Rosemary Gin Gimlet
- Combine gin, rosemary simple syrup and the juice of 1 lime in a cocktail shaker. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice and shake thoroughly.
- Strain the drink into a coupe cocktail glass. Garnish with a rosemary sprig.
