New York Sour
Ingredients
- 2 oz whiskey or bourbon
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- ¾ oz simple syrup
- 1 egg white
- 1 oz dry red wine (Merlot or Cabernet would be ideal)
- orange peel or slice for garnish
Instructions
- Combine the egg white, simple syrup, lemon juice and bourbon in a cocktail shaker. Shake it thoroughly for 1 minute without ice.
- Add ice to the cocktail shaker and shake for 30 seconds.
- Strain the drink into a lowball cocktail glass filled with ice.
- Top the drink with a splash of red wine.
- Optional: Garnish with an orange slice or orange peel.
