Taking care of my skin has become a huge priority of mine over the past year. Last August, I didn’t have a great skin care routine, and I was basically using heavy makeup on a daily basis. I finally decided that enough was enough, and I started to do my research on what I needed to do to keep my skin healthy. I invested in several amazing products from Beautycounter and started to figure out what my skin needed. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
In today’s post, I am sharing my daytime skin care routine. These are the steps I follow each and every morning once I get back from my workout class. I have a pretty simple routine, and I try not to apply too many products to my skin. I apply very little makeup during the week because I work from home and would rather let my skin breathe throughout the day.

Step 1: Cleanser
- As soon as I get home from Orangetheory, I take a shower and use the Countermatch Pure Calm Cleansing Milk on my face. This really helps to remove the sweat, dirt and grease from my face after a tough workout. I used to skip cleansing in the morning, but I realized that I should be using something on my face to get rid of all the sweat build-up.
Step 2: Ice Roll
- After showering, I use an ice roller on my face. You can order one of these off of Amazon for under $15! This tool is great for de-puffing your face and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. The ice roller also helps to control my acne. Overall, I would highly recommend ordering one of these regardless of your skin type.
Step 3: Moisturize & SPF
- Once I have ice rolled my face, I apply my favorite moisturizer from Beautycounter. I use a couple of pumps of the Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion and apply it all over my face. This moisturizer works great on all skin types because it uses a special technology that matches the exact needs of your skin.
- After applying the moisturizer, I use the Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream. I have struggled with dryness around my eyes the past couple of years, so I have to apply an eye cream every single day. This really helps to keep my eyes hydrated throughout the day.
- Next up, I use the Dew Skin Moisturizing Coverage. I love this product because it has SPF 20 protection and provides you with a very light coverage. If you don’t currently use sunscreen or SPF on your face, you need to start now! It is so important to protect your face from the sun. Some people will use this product as their foundation if they like a lighter coverage. It isn’t enough coverage for me, so I still apply a foundation on top of the dew skin. For reference, I ordered shade No. 2.
Step 4: Foundation
- The final step of my daily skin care routine is to apply my foundation. I use Beautycounter’s Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation in the color sand. You get way more coverage with the tint skin than you do with the dew skin. Overall, the foundation is very lightweight, and it will leave you with a more natural look. I love this product for my everyday look.
Most days, this is all I do! It’s very easy and only takes about 5 minutes. I don’t apply much makeup during the week since I work from home. If I have to run out, I might throw on a little bit of mascara, but that’s about it. Wearing less makeup has really helped my complexion, and I have less breakouts when I keep it simple!
Do you have a daytime skin care routine? If so, what is your favorite product to use in the morning? I’d love to hear what your routine looks like!
