Hello and welcome to my blog!
If you didn’t get a chance to read a little bit of my background (posted here), let me introduce you to myself first.
My name is Catheryn Grivna, and I am 25 years old, currently living in Houston, TX with my husband Alex.
I was born in Palo Alto, California, but grew up most of my life in Omaha, Nebraska (my family also lived in Houston for a few years). I went to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated in 2012 with a Biological Systems Engineering degree (it definitely wasn’t easy…but so worth it!).
Upon graduation, I took a job in Madison, Wisconsin. I lived in Madison for about 3 years. During that time, a lot of great things happened: I met my husband, Alex (we met at work), I was able to work on several interesting projects, and got to travel (about 80% of the time) to a lot of fun places!
Last year, Alex and I decided that we didn’t like living up north (wayyyyy too cold!), so we started to explore different options to move south. I started looking for new jobs and ended up finding a job in Healthcare IT that let me work from home. We decided to move to Houston for a number of reasons including: family, future job opportunities/outlook, TONS to do, guaranteed warm weather, and easy access to several other fun cities in Texas.
We have been in Texas for about a year now and we love it more every day.
I have been thinking about starting a blog for over a year now, and I finally had time to hit the ground running on this project.
What is my blog going to focus on?
To be honest, I am not going to focus on one topic. I want to blog about several different aspects of my life including travel, home decor (we just bought a house in September of 2015), food, fitness and whatever else comes to mind! You probably won’t see much fashion on this blog, but you never know (don’t get me wrong – I love to shop and get new clothes, but it just isn’t something I want to focus on).
A few months ago, I saw this simple quote, “Make Every Day Count.” This really stuck with me, and I wanted to use it as a little motto for my blog. Whether you have a killer workout, go on amazing trip, crush a work presentation, or whatever you are doing, we should all be putting our best foot forward to really make every day count!
I look forward to sharing fun and exciting content and making every post count. Cheers!
