January Highlights
Overall, January was a very long and boring month. Even though it was extremely blah, it was exactly we needed after a busy 2019. Here are some of the “highlights” from the month:
- We ate a LOT of healthy meals at home.
- We went on a Friday night date night each week and spent three of those Fridays in Downtown Houston.
- We hung new light fixtures in the kitchen.
- We tried a delicious new recipe from Half Baked Harvest.
- We spent several hours on the couch planning our trip to Japan.
- I started my WSET Level 2 course.
January Goal Recap
If you read this post, you may remember what some of my goals were for the month (and the entire year). Here’s how I did on my January Goals:
- No drinking Monday-Thursday (otherwise known as “Damp January”).
- Kind Of Accomplished: I cheated one day, but otherwise, I stuck with it. This was HUGE for me.
- Be active for at least 60 minutes each day.
- Accomplished. Yes. I worked out every single day. Sometimes twice a day.
- No alcohol purchases unless dining out.
- Accomplished. We did not buy any wine, beer or liquor all month.
- Try one new restaurant in Houston.
- Accomplished: We actually tried 2 new restaurants! Kata Robata and Uchi.
- Use MyFitnessPal to count/track all calories.
- Kind of Accomplished: I did this about 80% of the time. I slipped up a couple time on the weekend (especially when we went out to dinner).
