I’m really excited for today’s post because I am finally revealing another room in our house! I’ve wanted to share our Master Bedroom for a while now, but I never wanted to put it on the blog because I didn’t feel like it was “complete.” After owning a home for the past few years, I have learned that nothing will ever be complete in my mind. I am constantly changing something, buying new furniture, new pillows, etc. I’m sure you can relate if you are a homeowner. There’s always a project!
Anyways, I decided it was time to take a few photos and show y’all what my Master Bedroom looks like (as of today)! I really do love this room, and it is very cozy. We tried to keep with the farmhouse theme, as most of our first floor has that same feel. We also have a shiplap wall in our bedroom, so I feel like Chip and Jo would be proud.
Table of Contents
Bedding
- All of our bedding is from Pottery Barn. We actually registered for this bedding before our wedding, so we’ve had it for about 4 years now. It was part of the Rustic Luxe Collection in 2014, and they still carry a few of these items today. I love the color scheme and surprisingly enough, it matched perfectly with the paint color in the bedroom.
Bed
- Our bed is also from Pottery Barn, and they still sell that same model today. We’ve had this bed for a few years now, and I love it. I think it works well with the dark hardwood flooring, and I love the neutral color. I am sure we will keep this bed for years to come!
Mirror
- I found our full-length mirror at Home Goods. They always have a huge selection of these mirrors, and they are priced well. You shouldn’t have to spend over $100 for a decent mirror like this. I think everyone needs a good floor length mirror in their house.
Console/Dresser
- I’m not sure what the correct name is for this piece of furniture. It isn’t really a console or a dresser, but whatever it is, I like it! We found this piece at our local Home Goods! We had been looking for something to put in this space for months. We almost gave up and built something ourselves. Of course, you always find what you need when you least expect it. I know Home Goods still carries a lot of similar pieces, so I would keep checking your local store if you are in need of a similar piece of furniture.
Desk and Floating Shelves
- Alex built the desk, the chair and the floating shelves. I love that we have some of our own masterpieces in the bedroom. We used Shanty 2 Chic’s plan for the desk, and I think it turned out really well. They also have several tutorials for floating shelves. All of the knickknacks on the shelves are from Hobby Lobby or Home Goods. Both of those stores are great for filling up shelves or decorating a coffee table.
Nightstands
- We purchased these nightstands at World Market several years ago, and it doesn’t look like they are still selling them. They are pretty simple, which is why I like them so much. I know Alex wants to eventually build us some custom nightstands, but for now, these will do.
Chairs
- We ordered these chairs from Pier 1 and they are still in stock! Our bedroom is pretty big, so we definitely needed to add in this sitting area. To be honest, we hardly ever sit in these chairs, but I do think it’s a nice touch. I don’t know what else we would have put there. Chairs seemed like the most logical piece of furniture for this space.
Shiplap Wall
- We decided to do a shiplap wall because we felt like our bedroom needed a little more dimension. We didn’t have anything on this wall before, and it definitely needed something. I am glad we went with the shiplap instead of a piece of artwork. We added a big floating shelf above the shiplap wall so we could have a mantle to put a few knickknacks on. All of the stuff on top of the mantle is from Hobby Lobby.
“I Love Us” Sign
- We purchased this item from the Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be the perfect addition to our bedroom. I’m obsessed!
Future Plans
- Like I said earlier, I don’t feel like this room is “complete,” so I wanted to share a few of my ideas. I’m not sure when we will get around to these projects, but I will keep you posted!
- Project #1: Adding a sliding barn door where the bathroom connects to the bedroom. We would get rid of the french doors in the process.
- Project #2: Possibly adding more artwork to the walls or re-arranging the current artwork. I have a hard time making decisions when it comes to putting decor on walls.
- Project #3: Attempting to hide cords. I moved a lot of our cords for the photos, but we have cables everywhere. It drives me crazy!
- Project #4: Adding french doors where the windows are. Our bedroom overlooks the hot tub, so it would be nice to have a walk out directly from our room (especially during the winter). I think this would be extremely expensive, so I really haven’t thought too much about it.
Anything that I didn’t talk about above was probably purchased a random store like Home Goods, Target or Hobby Lobby. If you have questions about a specific product, let me know and I will try to track down where I found it. Also, I am linking to a few products below. Some of these products (like the bed) are an exact match of what I have. Other items (like the mirror) are very similar to what I purchased.
