Welcome Y’all!
I am so excited that I am finally able to share my home office reveal! This has been a long time coming, mainly because I am picky and wanted everything to look just right.
The previous owners used this room as a bedroom, but when I first saw it, I thought it would be the perfect space for my home office. Below is a picture of the ‘before’ when it was a bedroom.
And this is the after – fully converted into a home office! I will be working from home over 90% of the time going forward, so I really needed a fully dedicated space.
I linked most of the products I used below, but something to note is that I actually spray painted the shelves. I found an Ikea-hack on Pinterest to get cheap shelving and spray paint it gold. I think it was a Pinterest Win!
For all of the little knick-knacks on the shelves – it took numerous trips to Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, Target, etc. I collected all of the knick-knacks and decor over 1-year, so it definitely was not an overnight process! Be patient if you are trying to decorate shelves or your walls – I promise you will stumble upon the right things over time.
Honestly, nothing in the room was super expensive, so I think I did pretty well overall from a budget-perspective. Ikea is your friend if you are trying to save some money!
I was so excited when I found this gold, spin chair at Joss & Main because who doesn’t want to spin around in their chair?! I am clearly already having too much fun with that.
I also love this little corner of my office – I decided to hang my “Out of Office” hat since I love it so much. I didn’t realize that it could double as wall decor – haha! I love it when things have multiple uses.
Since we have frequent visitors, we wanted this room to double has a second guest room! After browsing around on Pinterest for a few hours, I found a simple, white day-bed at Ikea. This was exactly what I was looking for, and it was a reasonable price. It only took Alex 12 hours to put it together, but he didn’t mind 🙂
One great thing about the day-bed is that you can pull out the drawers and it turns into a queen bed! I love that you can save space, but still get a full-size bed.
I sometimes take a little cat nap on the daybed in the middle of the work day. It is so cozy.
Below is another cute little corner of my office – I love the “@” sign because I am always on my e-mail. It fits well into an office space! Also, the stool in this corner was a little DIY project – it only took an hour or two once I got the supplies. It is just one more way I saved money with this office project.
One of the last things we did to this room was replace the fan and the flooring. I felt like the original fan was too dark for the room, so I found a white fan on Amazon (linked below).
I also found some light-colored, laminate flooring that would work well with this space. We had a little bit of a flooring fiasco the day we tried to install it, so this wasn’t the original flooring we picked it out, but I love the flooring we ended up with!
Overall, I am really happy with the way with this room turned out. It definitely took a lot of time to get it just right, but we weren’t in a rush! It was honestly kind of fun to see it change month-to-month.
Below, I have linked some of the key products in this post. If you have any questions about additional products, feel free to leave a comment or send an e-mail.
Anyways, I am so relieved that another room in the house is finally complete! Isn’t it the best feeling when you can check a big project off the list? Clearly, I am overjoyed!
I hope you all enjoyed this post! I know room reveals are one of my favorite things to write about, so let me know if you want to see more posts like this.
I should be posting our dining room reveal in the next week or two, so stay tuned for that. I am so excited for you all to see the before and after – it doesn’t even look like the same room!
What do you all think of the office? Do you think it is missing anything? I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas!

Hi Carly! Nice to hear from you 🙂 – I actually got it from Floors and Decor! I believe this is the color I used – it is laminate flooring, but it still looks great! https://www.flooranddecor.com/laminate-laminate/washed-pine-laminate-100013507.html#sz=120&start=1
