You know when you have the best of intentions and set the bar really high for yourself, but you still fail? Yep. That was me this month.
I set all of these great goals and basically accomplished none of them. I don’t know what it was about this month, but it turned into a busy month full of fun and indulgences. I am glad we lived our lives and did fun things, but I feel like a loser for not accomplishing my goals. Do you ever feel that way?
I am having such a hard time finding the perfect balance in my life. I want to have fun, live my life, go out to happy hour, and do all of the things. But…….I also want to stay healthy, save money, etc. How do we make it all work? How do we find the balance? Does anyone ever feel like they achieved the perfect balance?
If anyone has any suggestions for balance, let me know. I am really struggling with that in my life lately.
Anyways, all of my May Goals are listed below. I put a description by each one to give you an update of how I did.
- Continue with 6 work-outs per week
- I made it to the gym about 5 times per week, so I was pretty close with this one.
- When I didn’t go to the gym, I made it a point to walk at least 3 miles that day.
- Last week, I fell short on this goal due to a quick trip to KC, but other than that I was still going to the gym.
- I made it to the gym about 5 times per week, so I was pretty close with this one.
- Do 100 burpees per day on top of the work-out
- I did the first 3 days, and then I broke my toe, so this had to come to an end.
- Only 1 night out per week
- We survived the first week of this, and then failed miserably. I don’t even want to admit how many times we have eaten out this month! It was so bad.
- Try 1 new recipe every week
- We did try cauliflower pizza and maybe 1 other new recipe, but I didn’t do more than that. The cauliflower pizza was such an epic fail that I was nervous to venture out into another new recipe.
- Finish planning and booking Christmas Trip
- Yes! We did do this. Hotels and all flights are booked.
- No Shopping
- I did pretty good with this one. I did buy a few things, but I didn’t buy anything I didn’t really need. For example, I bought make-up because I ran out. And I bought new tennis shoes because my old ones were hurting my knees.
- Just kidding – I just realized I bought an outfit from J. Crew while in Kansas City. Definitely didn’t need it, but it was cute!
- Finish De-Cluttering
- Didn’t even start this (but to be honest – our house isn’t that cluttered)
- Organize and Deep Clean Garage
- Didn’t even start this.
- Getting up at 5 AM Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- I got a little better about this, but it didn’t happen every single day. If I wasn’t up at 5, I was for sure up by 6.
- Catalog my wine
- Didn’t even start this.
So, there you have it! I completed failed this month, but that’s okay.
I do want to try to repeat some of these goals for June since I didn’t get around to them in May. Check back tomorrow for my June Goals. Maybe I will actually stick with something next month.
To end on a happier note, I thought I would share the highlights of May. Overall, it was a great month and we had a ton of fun! Lots of time was spent outside by the pool, so I can’t complain!
I hope everyone had a great May!
